I think the concept is fun. I didn't see anyone else doing a sports star. I don't personally who he is, but the quotes are very funny and people who are familiar will like them even more. It's pretty clear from the first image that he's a football star, although if I only saw the other two I might be very confused as to who he was.
As for the design, I might suggest a few things to consider. First, I might try other typefaces. The current choice is a bit curvy and feminine looking, while the subject is a very muscular athlete. I might try something a bit more blocky or energetic. Secondly, The red text is a little jarring. I would suggest changing to white text, and maybe black text in the last image. The red vibrates a bit and can be hard to read. I would also reconsider the placement. I realize this is a challenge since your quotes are so long. But overall, the text is too close to his face in many parts, sometimes even touching it. I would give it some breathing room. I would also either add a space between the quote and his name or bold his name because it doesn't stand out, but instead reads as part of the text.
