Concept

  • The postcards are united by a strong theme of awe-inspiring and motivational quotes that focus on moving forward and show the sense of some journey, whether physical or metaphorical.
  • The design accomplishes the goal of instilling some sense of awe or motivation in the viewer.
  • Yes, it is definitely a worthwhile and universal concept.

  • Communication

  • The images and concept are immediately clear, and the theme that connects the quotes and images is clear as well.
  • The quotes, in addition to the images of worldly places that show some distance or understanding of the huge size of the world, make the viewer want to go out and explore.

  • Structure

  • The design’s visual priorities are to be inspiring and striking to the viewer, so that they can come away with some desire for new experiences.
  • The primary design elements (the image, the quotes, the context of the quotes) are working in a complementary way with each other.
  • As a viewer, I consider the background as the image and the text as floating in the foreground.
  • With regards to responsiveness, the image will become bigger when the browser width shrinks and the text will become bigger/centered on the image.

  • Aesthetic

  • The design of these 'postcards' is beautiful! The overall aesthetic of all these images is consistent, distinct, and clearly relates to the main concept. These are definitely images that could be made into inspirational posters/other merchandise.

  • Execution

  • The typeface is pretty generic; though there are no issues with it, it doesn't really contribute anything to the images tonally or conceptually. You could maybe consider something more sophisticated or striking to convey the depth and meaning of the quotes presented here. Leaving the tyepface as it is would be fine, but it is neither hurting nor helping the images at this point.
  • The images are fairly large and complex, and the text only takes up a small part of the overall images. Though that does help to convey a sense of smallness, and the quotes deal with large, overarching themes of humanity that put the smallness of individual human beings into perspective, it is not the only way to convey these quotes. Consider how the tone could change if the type size was so large it took up the whole page, or if the text was centered in the middle of the postcards.
  • High-res images, no issue here.
